Are MacBook Pros upgradeable?

you can upgrade the ram and storage on any MacBook Pro 13″ or 15″ or 17″ models

that is mid 2012 model or older, and you can upgrade only the ssd on Retina display models 13″ and 15″ that are range from mid 2012 to mid 2015 and after that you can only upgrade the 13″ MacBook Pro none touch-bar model, and not the touch bar models on both 13″ & 15″ touch bar you can’t change anything,

Unibody model

a1278 13 inch, up to mid 2012, you can change hard drive and ram

a1286 15inc, up to mid 2012 you can change hard drive and ram

a1297 : 17inch, up to Late 2011 you can change hard drive and ram

MacBook Pro unibody hard drive

Retina Model

A1425 13 inch retina, up to Early 2013 you can change Storage” PCIe”

A1502 13 inch retina, up to Early 2015 you can change Storage” PCIe”

A1398 15 inch retina, up to Mid 2015 you can change Storage” PCIe”

13 None Touch-bar Mode “ change storage only”

a1708 13 inch None Touc-bar, up to 2017 you can change Storage” PCIe”

 

13 & 15 Touch Bar “can’t change anything”

A1706 13 inch Touc-bar, up to 2017 you can’t change anything.

A1707 15 inch Touc-bar, up to 2017 you can’t change anything.

And all newer models that are in Apple Store now, you can’t change anything.
