I need help, I can’t remove the bottom back case cover off my MacBook pro Touch bar!

Following models can use this method to remove back bottom case:

13 / 15 / 16 inch MacBook Pro 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Model.

Answer: After removing all p5 screws, slide in between a plastic pry tool or a plastic card ( lower section of the bottom case ) than raise the bottom case order about 1 inch and next slide your singer and pull upwards about 3 inch and you should hear two snap sounds indicating now you can slid and pull the bottom case toward yourself. It can be tricky but should be easy. It wont come off by force, so take your time. Make sure when your removing the bottom case the laptop is laying flat and the bottom case is facing you, the serial number must be facing up when removing the bottom case.

Steps:

  1. Remove the T5 Screws:
Locate and remove all the T5 screws securing the bottom case. These are typically located around the perimeter of the device.
  2. Insert the Pry Tool:
Insert the flat edge of your pry tool or plastic card into the gap between the bottom case and the main body of your MacBook Pro. Start on the opposite side of the serial number. Gently pry up the bottom case, creating a small gap.
  3. Lift the Bottom Case:
Once you’ve created a gap, slide your fingers underneath the lifted portion of the case. Gently lift the case upwards, about 3 inches. You should hear two distinct snaps as the case releases from its clips.
  4. Slide and Remove the Case:
With the case partially lifted, slide it towards you to release the remaining clips. Once the case is free, carefully remove it from the MacBook Pro.

Tips:

  • Take your time: Rushing this process can lead to damage.
  • Be gentle: Avoid using excessive force.

Tools Needed:

Make sure not to damage the logic board by a sudden move of the bottom case when you’re pulling toward your self and when its coming out of place.

Good luck and as always, do some research if you’re not sure.
