Detach Battery Daughterboard
- Use a T5 screwdriver to remove the center screw holding the battery daughterboard.
Soften Adhesive
- Apply 98% isopropyl alcohol around the edges of the battery cells and speaker units.
- Let it sit for several minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Begin Battery Removal
- Use a large, flat spudger to gently pry up the battery. Avoid sharp tools that could puncture cells.
- Note: The battery will not come out fully without tilting the logic board.

Prepare to Tilt Logic Board
- Disconnect the following:
- Keyboard flex cable
- Left and right speaker connectors
- Additional small logic board connectors
- Use a T3 screwdriver to remove retention plates and T5/T3 drivers to remove board screws.

- Carefully tilt the logic board upward slightly to allow battery removal. Do not over-bend or force it.

Remove Battery
- With the logic board tilted, slide the battery cells and connectors out from underneath.
- Remove any remaining adhesive strips with isopropyl alcohol and a scraper.
Remove Speakers
- Reapply isopropyl alcohol around the speakers to soften their adhesive.
- Use a spudger to pry out the left and right speakers. If you’re replacing blown speakers, you don’t need to be as cautious.
- Remove leftover adhesive with tweezers and clean the area thoroughly.
Clean the Fans and Inside
- Use tweezers to lift out heavy dust buildup from the fan fins.
- Blow out remaining dust using an air duster, especially in corners and vents.
