Remove the Back Cover

Disconnect the Power Button/Fingerprint Reader Cable
- Carefully remove the adhesive-secured cable for the power button and fingerprint reader.
- Slowly peel and pull the cable back, keeping it intact for reuse or replacement.

Unscrew the Motherboard
- Start by removing four hidden screws using a pry tool to reveal them.
- Use a Torx 5 for the majority of screws and Torx 6 for three key locations (top right, top left, middle left).
- Keep track of different screw lengths and types, especially those at the bottom.

Remove the Logic Board
- Lift from the right side and carefully navigate around connectors as you remove it.
- Gently slide it out without bending the board, checking for any missed screws or resistance.
- Pull away rubber fan grommets and clear ports from SD and HDMI side as you remove it.

Remove and Transfer the Fingerprint Reader and Power Button
- Unscrew six Torx 3 screws securing the component.

- Install Torx 5 screws around the perimeter, leaving the three larger screws for last.
- Use Torx 6 to fasten the final three screws at designated corners.
Replace Protective Covers
- Reverse your removal order to reinstall cable shields and protective casings.
- Match screws with their respective covers, especially for Wi-Fi and display cables.
- Reattach all screw covers for a clean finish.
Reconnect the Battery and Trackpad Cable
- Align and secure the battery with its screw, then reinsert and latch both flex connectors.
- Reconnect the trackpad cable and install its protective cover.
