Tools You Need
For this repair, you will need a pentalobe screwdriver to open the MacBook casing, a spudger to safely disconnect internal components, a T5 screwdriver for removing and reinstalling screws, isopropyl alcohol to soften battery adhesive, a plastic scraper for cleanup, and double-sided adhesive strips for securing the new battery.
Remove the Bottom Case
- Remove all pentalobe screws from the MacBook’s bottom case.
- Carefully lift the bottom panel to expose the internal components.
- Set the bottom panel and screws aside for reinstallation later.

Disconnect the Battery
